The Hingham Historical Society is proud to present its 100th Historic House Tour, a beloved Hingham tradition celebrating the remarkable homes, architecture, and history that make our community distinctive.

This milestone tour during America’s 250th features eight private homes, three historic public buildings, and all three Hingham Historical Society museums: the Hingham Heritage Museum, the 1686 Old Ordinary, and the Benjamin Lincoln House, a National Historic Landmark.

Settled in 1635, Hingham is one of America’s oldest communities, with an extraordinary concentration of historic architecture spanning nearly four centuries. Our 100th House Tour offers a rare opportunity to step inside some of Hingham’s most fascinating properties and discover the people, craftsmanship, architecture, and stories that have shaped the town.

Your Ticket Includes

Admission to all eight private homes, three public buildings, and three Hingham Historical Society museums, as well as our special America’s 250th exhibition and Tea Room at the Hingham Heritage Museum, where guests can pause for complimentary refreshments during the tour.

Your ticket book is a guide with a brief history and map of every property on the tour.

Purchase in advance to avoid lines on tour day. Ticket pickup begins on Tuesday, September 22, from 9 AM–4 PM at the Hingham Heritage Museum, 34 Main Street and continues through tour day. Tickets may be picked up at the Museum on tour day.

Parking & Accessibility

Street parking is available near all properties featured on the tour, and police details will assist with safe pedestrian crossings at key locations. With hundreds of visitors expected throughout the day, we strongly encourage guests to carpool, walk, or bike whenever possible.

All Hingham Historical Society properties are accessible; however, the private homes on the tour are not accessible and may include stairs, uneven surfaces, and other features typical of historic residences. Please plan accordingly.

Before You Go

To protect the historic homes and ensure a safe and enjoyable tour for everyone:

  • Tour recommended for ages 12 and older
  • Babes in arms are welcome, but no strollers
  • No pets
  • No spike heels
  • No backpacks
  • No food or drink inside tour properties
  • No interior photography in any of the private homes 

The tour takes place rain or shine.
